Privacy Policy - Persistent Reminder App

Bumbi is designed with your privacy as a priority. We believe your reminders are personal, and they should stay that way. This policy explains what data Bumbi collects (spoiler: almost none) and how it is handled.

Data Collection

Bumbi stores all your reminders and settings locally on your device. All local data is encrypted with AES-128 using a device-specific key stored in Android Keystore. Your reminder text, mode selections, snooze preferences, and quiet hours configuration never leave your phone. The one exception is Bumbi Assist: when you tap "Suggest steps", the text of that single reminder is sent to generate the steps and is not stored (see the AI section of the privacy policy).

Outside of that one optional action, we do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on external servers. There is no account creation required. There is no cloud sync.

Crash Reporting and Anonymous Analytics

Bumbi uses Sentry for anonymous crash reporting to fix bugs, and PostHog for anonymous product analytics that tell us which features help people remember, for example how often reminders get resolved. These events use a random anonymous ID and never include your reminder text or personal information. There are no ads, no tracking pixels, and your data is never sold or shared.

Purchase Validation

If you purchase Bumbi Plus, the transaction is processed through Google Play. We use RevenueCat to validate your purchase and unlock premium features. RevenueCat receives:

• • An anonymous app user ID (not tied to your identity)
• • Purchase receipt data from Google Play

RevenueCat does not receive your reminder content, settings, or any other personal information. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

AI step suggestions (Bumbi Assist)

When you tap "Suggest steps" on a reminder, the text of that one reminder is sent to our server and then to a paid AI provider (Google Gemini, with OpenAI as fallback) to generate the step list. This happens only when you tap the button, never automatically. The reminder text is not stored on our server, is not used to train AI models (paid tier contract, no-training routing enforced per request), and never appears in our analytics or crash reports. We keep a daily usage counter tied to an anonymous purchase identifier, nothing else. Voice input is transcribed on-device; audio never leaves your phone.

Permissions

Bumbi requests the following Android permissions:

• • Notifications: to deliver your reminders
• • Exact Alarms: to schedule reminders at the right time
• • Boot Receiver: to restore reminders after device restart

These permissions are used solely for delivering reminders. No data collected through these permissions is transmitted externally.

Children's Privacy

Bumbi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Since Bumbi does not collect your email or contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
